| Glenn, I don't understand why you entertain these people. Hindsight has been caterwauling in this vein for months. Allow me to remind you of how she (claims she's a he, I don't buy it) treated you back in January: http://groups.google.ca/group/alt.la...e20b4295fc354f Hindsight: "If someone above is not a doctor, then doctors must be paying him to spin this web of manure. It seems to be his job." Glenn: "The only spinning I have ever had to do is unspin the bovine fertilizer some people have attempted to spread. I have no intention or desire to make refractive surgery sound like anything. It is what it is. Nothing more and nothing less." Hindsight: "See he never stops. They must be paying him with those millions.Does he even sleep? [snip] No matter how much you spin on this subject, you can't make cosmetic eye surgery a good thing. You can't suck in victims with lies forever. The truth will be told." I know you mean well but you are wasting your keystrokes. These. People. Are. Fucked. You cannot help them. Not over the internet. I get that you are trying to stay objective and professional - I am under no such obligation. |

| There is definately some truth to that.My OEP is very anti-lasik,because he has dealt with the results but he knew enough to not have it and steers people away from it. Of course,it would depend on how bad the results were,I only know my own experience which was very bad.I don't know what a minor complication would be like.I wish. This is interesting,I saw an opthomologist at ohio university some months back.I asked him why he was wearing glasses, and why hadn't he had lasik. He actually said and I quote "I know more than you do."He knew a lot more than I did,but he wasn't telling it. |

This is not at all true and a dangerous assumption. It is dangerous> side. because if this were true, only anti-Lasik people would have had bad results. This would grossly under-report the reality. Many patient satisfaction surveys have found that patients who have poor to moderate outcomes will still recommend Lasik to their friends. It is surmised and evidence indicates that the majority of people who have poor to moderate outcomes consider their results an anomaly and assume others will have different results. The number of fervent anti-Lasik people does not represent the total number of people with poor outcomes. It only represents the number of people who are fervently anti-Lasik. | Was that a joke or is this charactor really a doctor.I know he has a reason to be here and it's most certainly not to warn people of the risks and dangers of having your eyes ripped apart and lasered.Everybody seems to be far to one side of the fence or the other. When the result is bad,you are automatically on the anti lasik side. Most people with a good result aren't even going to be heard from at all. That leaves the ones who are monetarily connected and likely becoming rich from this hoax. They are likely the most ferocious and nasty of the bunch. |

Everyone who has read this group for more than 5 minutes knows you harp> in order to prove that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. continually on this point Sandy. I have read Glenn's response to this question countless times. If you haven't the wherewithal to go look up answers he's already provided you with than I would suggest your eye problems go much deeper; possibly your entire brain has been cauterized. Look into that, would you? You're wasting our time. |

| For some people, no "proof" is enough. Others use the resources we provide.
