Are you naive or just stupid? They clog the courts all the time with
frivilous suits. The one win covers a lot of losses. They "spend" next
to nothing filing and following. Just because you hear of huge legal
bills, it doesn't mean it cost the lawyer.

How many attorneys do you know who take "ridiculous" or "frivolous"
cases? Why would they commit professional suicide doing so? Their
records of wins and losses follow them. Why would they take a med-mal
case on contingency and spend thousands (or tens of thousands or more)
if they don't believe that a case has merit and that they can win it?
Think about it.

Depends on jury selection. Good thing judges set aside some of the
more ridiculous ones.

Why don't you look at the stats on how many plaintiffs actually win
malpractice lawsuits? Valid lawsuits are frequently lost and the odds
are very much against the patient, because people idolize doctors and
don't want to believe that they hurt people. What percentage of
frivolous suits do you think are won by the plaintiff?

I have never said that.

Because some of us communicate via email in large point size. I don't
do this with anyone else--just certain lasik casualties who may or may
not be myopic now.

yeah, I'm nearsighted.

When I take my contacts out, I am nearsighted.

Yeah, because I'm nearsighted.

Because I'm nearsighted. Got it yet?

Here's one that will get you going again: I had trouble today reading
small print, and did much better with very large print. I wasn't
wearing my contacts. Explain that one.

Best thing I've found since lasik. I recommended them last night to
my nearsighted brother, because he was miserable during dinner--had a
speck of dust or something under his RGP lens. My only complaint is
that the optical zone is only 6mm. Indoors and at night, I have
problems seeing clearly because my pupils get larger than that. He
doesn't have big pupils, so he should achieve superb vision with them,
and because of the soft skirt, he won't get those painful particles of
junk under them.

are they comfortable? yes, extremely.

expensive? $400 for two pair. I spent $1000 for one pair of zWave
lenses 5-6 years ago.

Depends on your disposable income, doesn't it?

I don't doubt for a minute that you have challenging vision... however that was
not the point.

first off you say that you have trouble reading small print because of a bad
outcome...

"It helps those of us with bad lasik outcomes....makes the letters larger for
us, since there is no way to post here in 14 or 18 point size"

then you say that you can read small print just fine...

"I don't have problems reading small print, but many of my
friends who had lasik and now are presbyopic do struggle with
reading."

then to avoid a untruth you quickly exclude yourself from the "us"...

"By "those of us", I was referring to the LASIK casualty community in
general and not to myself in particular."

PS
How do you like the SynergEyes? are they comfortable? expensive?
I only wear contacts to play hockey so I imagine the price would be prohibitive
for occasional use.
