I have used and liked the Proclear TMT, but ran into some delivery
problems a few years ago, which prompted me to look for another vendor.
Voila, I came up with Gelflex, one of the more consistent performers
in my experience.

Actually, I have been using the Purevision Toric for a number of
months, now. I think that the material makes it perform better than
the SL66, but it's still early.

I hate to say this, but I have found the Acuvue Advance Toric to be
quite a good lens, perhaps a category killer.

Likewise, haven't used Hydrasoft (or for that matter any methaflicon
material lens) in a long time. Not a bad lens, but with hioxifilcons
from a number of manufacturers (the A material has DK closer to 20+ if
that matters) and Proclear, we have other choices. My favorite for
custom toric is the Proclear---dk=25-28 and for stock -2.75, you can't
beat the B&L SL66, dk= 32. And you know that any week now they'll have
it in Purevision.

It's sure helped my patients who needed a custom toric. I haven't used
Hydrasoft in at least a decade.

Personal preference.

I never dispensed or recommended any moistureloc. I've consistently
recommended against ANY renu products for several years due to. My one
patient that got fusarium bought it on her own. She now has a 3 cyl
(from simple myopia) and a big corneal scar.

I'm sorry, but I lack the numbers to be able to make that statement, or
even agree with it. But, I think I can breath easy because I doubt
that I distributed more than a dozen starter kits of Moistureloc during
the time it was on the market. ;-)

They *were* extremely rare, until moistureloc came along. Then they
became almost common.

Now that moistureloc is gone from the universe, they are again "quite rare".

In more than 20 years of practice, I had never heard of fusarium
infections. I've seen maybe one fungal eye infection in all that time.
They are quite rare.

Presumably people were equally careless using the previous Renu product
and/or other products. Anybody know what the fusarium infection rate
was before the moisture-lok stuff came out and why it's different, if it is?
