Default Re: Discomfort in my eye

Are there a number of reasons why it might occur?

Also I don’t consider my prescription particularly high. Are you suggesting
that I should wear my glasses all the time to prevent the pain in my eye
happening at all, and is it usual for someone with this level of prescription
to wear it all the time, or just as a remedial measure when I get the
discomfort?

Thanks

Dr Frank thanks for your reply.

I appreciate what you suggest as solution but what I had hoped I might get
from this forum is an understanding of what might cause it. Are there a
number of reasons why it might occur?

Sorry to keep coming back with extra questions but I’d value your opinion.
Thanks.

"OP" = original poster
Without seeing you in the office, I can't say for sure
why it's monocular (one eye) but I would be more
concerned if you had the problem WHILE wearing
your glasses. So yes, obviously it will (does) go
away with wearing your glasses. Don't mean to
be flippant but to eliminate your problem just
keep your glasses on.

What is OP?
But why do I get it in only 1 eye not both?
More importantly, will it go away?
Thanks again

More likely the OP is trying to squint to clear things up in the
uncorrected state which is causing the asthenopia.
Accommodation as the cause would be likely ONLY if
the person is hyperopic and not wearing the glasses.

Your eye is attempting to accomodate to it's uncorrected state and
you're experiencing muscle strain. Wear your glasses.

Default Discomfort in my eye

This is my prescription
Right eye -2.75 -0.25 x140
Left eye -2.25

Without glasses I experience discomfort in the right eye which feels like a
pulling sensation or a headache in my eye. Does anyone here have any idea
what could be causing it or has suffered something similar please?

Thanks, Esme
